Heavy rains flood parts of Peru

4/9/2008 PACORA, Peru -- Heavy rains have caused major flooding in parts of Peru. The rains have pushed rivers over their banks and have left many residents stranded in northern and western regions of the country. The flood waters have destroyed 300 homes, two schools and thousands of acres of farmland. Many highways located in the interior of the country have been cut off by the heavy rains. Hundreds of mountain villages have been isolated.
